Louise Amstrup
For spring/summer 2012, Louise Amstrup takes a turn for the cool and the daring. The hot summer afternoons of New York City play backdrop to a collection, which pays homage to both the city and the strong yet playful women who inhabit it. The character of Iris in 1976’s Taxi Driver – played by a young Jodie Foster – takes on the role of poster girl for Louise Amstrup’s new protagonist: a cool but light hearted woman, whose childlike strength of mind is reflected in her wardrobe.
Born in Denmark, Louise Amstrup studied in Germany where she graduated from Dusseldorf’s Akademie Mode and Design in 2003. She went on to work for Alexander McQueen before launching her eponymous label in 2008. Louise Amstrup won the OnIOff Visionary Award in 2010.
