Malene Oddershede Bach

For Spring/Summer 2013 Malene Oddershede Bach introduces yet another strong and colourful collection, which traverses from exquisite tailoring through to embellished leathers and cutaway Scottish cashmeres with statement prints in abundance. Prints have been cleverly created in close collaboration with scientists from the UCL Cancer Unit in London by growing encoded brain cancer genes with blue, green, mCherry and E2 crimson fluorescent proteins before photographing on a fluorescent microscope. Another one created from photographs of a dyed cancer histology slice and layered to create a playful and modern paisley effect.

Malene studied at Middlesex University, where she graduated in 2010, followed by furthering her fashion credentials while working as the Assistant Designer at Preen by Thornton Bregazzi before setting up by herself.
